History

Wright & Percy traces its history back to 1882, and for its first 114 years, the agency thrived in a single office in downtown Baton Rouge.
    
In 1996, Wright & Percy expanded beyond Baton Rouge opening offices in Lake Charles and Shreveport. The following year, a branch office was opened in Alexandria. By 2000, Wright & Percy established itself as Louisiana’s oldest and largest independently owned insurance agency.

In 2003, Wright & Percy joined the family of BancorpSouth Insurance Services, a subsidiary of BancorpSouth, one of the South’s fastest growing financial institutions. BancorpSouth Insurance Services is an alliance of Mississippi’s oldest and strongest agency, Stewart Sneed Hewes; as well as Arkansas’ prestigious, Ramsey, Krug, Farrell & Lensing; and most recently, the esteemed SMI Group in Missouri and JMG/IC Insurance Agency, Inc. in Texas. Collectively, BancorpSouth Insurance has 23 offices in 8 states. In 2004, Wright & Percy/BancorpSouth opened its Hammond office.

Today, in its third century, Wright & Percy/BancorpSouth remains poised for even greater growth.
